Roots of Rhythm is a program developed in conjunction with the International House of Blues Foundation (IHOBF) as a means to educate children about percussive instruments and their musical cultures around the world. Students learn to build a child-friendly replica of the instrument, perform common rhythmic patterns, and listen to the original music of the region and instrument. The program is designed to include music with social studies, math, art, and language arts.
